TRAVEL CHEAP (how, where and when to book)
It’s the end of a long week and Barbados pops into your mind. Ahhhh, that would be nice, you say to yourself, and then, immediately following ‘I can’t afford that, Barbados is not under the category of Cheap Trips”. But it can be a CHEAP TRIP if you know how to shop for it. In years past, the people who knew how, when and where to get the best deals, were usually travel agents. Now, your cheap travel, cheap tickets, cheap hotels cheap airfare and cheap travel packages are all waiting for you on the internet. When you find them, your much deserved, long-awaited CHEAP TRIP dream will come true.
How to book:
Almost everything is cheaper online, so that is the first place to start. Just open your favorite search engine and type cheap travel into the search box. You will see a myriad of travel sites advertising opportunities to travel cheaply.
Where to book:
There are many different sites and you may want to decide where you want to go first or you may want to browse different sites to see what the best, current cheap travel deals are. Sites like BookingBuddy.com and Bookit.com
can help book everything, they have Daily travel deals, Monthly travel deals, cheap flight deals, cheap hotel deals, even cheap cruise deals and cheap vacation package deals. While sites like Hotels.com, RailEurope.com, BestofOrlando.com and Taca (Latin American Airfare to the three Americas) focus on specific cheap travel deals. You can even find LUXURY CHEAP TRAVEL sites like Luxurylink.com focus on how to book cheap luxury vacations. Luxury Link also has auctions to get the best prices on the top resorts, hotels and all-inclusives in the world. There is even a deal on Barbados!!!!
When to book:
If your vacation dates are flexible it’s always best to avoid starting trip on a Monday or a weekend as the many other vacationers who want to get away drive up the airline prices on those days. Tuesdays and Wednesdays generally garner the best cheap travel deals.
Leaving mid-week when others cannot go can make your airfare significantly cheaper than flying on the weekends or on a Monday. It’s also best to book as far in advance as possible in most cases. Sometimes it pays to wait until the last minute if you are flexible with your dates and times of cheap travel AND you know that the flight or destination isn’t likely to fill up. I made the very painful (to my wallet) mistake of waiting for Airfare to Aspen Colorado to drop between December 15 and January 16. If I had been to Aspen before (this was my first cheap trip there) I would have realized there is only one airport and only a few airlines who fly into it and that mid-January is high season. All of these factors lead to the seats on the plane filling up fast and driving the prices of anything left way up. I will never do that again. If you know the location and can gauge whether supply and demand will make a deal possible (probably) then I say wait a bit, but check the prices every day and if they keep going up, BOOK that Cheap Travel immediately!
